Referred to as a Hobbit house, this 900 sq. ft. cabin is both beautiful and green. The walls are made from clay and hay, and most of the rest of the pieces are reclaimed or found locally. What’s even better is that the owner made it all himself (with a little help from some friends), and he’s not an architect or carpenter – he’s just a guy with a good idea, and a lot of time. The finished product looks great.

What I love about this beautiful cabin in British Columbia is the way it joins with nature almost seamlessly. It looks like great care was taken to not harm any trees, shrubs, or even rocks. It’d be easy to relax on that big beautiful patio, or staring out at the lake. I love it!

Baumraum, an architectural firm in Germany, specializes in the fantastic treehouse designs. These are the treehouses you remember as a kid (or saw on The Simpsons); they’re fully built and wired for stereo, internet, heat, and more. Relax in the trees in luxury!
