Shipping Container Emergency Shelters
There are a few groups looking to quickly build cheap emergency shelters in area hard hit by recent disasters, and they need your help. In Haiti, groups such as Shipping Container Housing and Green Container International Aid are trying to reuse old shipping containers to get people out of the elements and into housing that can withstand hurricanes, and they are seeking the donation of containers to get started.
On a much more selfish note, I kind of like the way these shipping container shelters look. They’re a little cobbled together, but they are totally green, very functional, and kind of fun.
