Just an amazing view from this home, and a beautiful job of maximizing it. They’ve got a nice, big deck, huge windows, and massive doors that open to the outside. I love it!

BlueSky Mod builds these wonderful prefab cabins, then ships them to your building plot ready to go – and they look awesome. Check out the design details on these!

The projected price is a shade under $100,000, so they are on the high end of some of the prefabs I’ve seen before. But you definitely get added value for that price, as the pictures attest.

The 103-year-old Clingstone Mansion is perched on a rock in Rhode Island’s Narragansett Bay. With an amazing 360-degree view of the ocean from the home’s three floors, the home looks almost like a castle or evil lair!

Built from SIP panels and a SIP roof system, the Park Model RV is a lovely small cabin design currently available for rental in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It looks great!

This beautiful house located in Chaum, France has a number of appealing features. They did a great job of playing up the great views on the South and East, while blocking off the undesirable views to the North and West. No lot is perfect!

I also love the way they covered the decks – it looks like you could step outside and be in a nice, peaceful place, regardless of where you are.

In the realm of small, affordable prefabs, the smart folks at Broadhurst Architects have come up with a great solution called The Crib. Starting at 175 square feet for the Basic Crib and 250 square feet for the Full Crib, these small structures are great for large backyards as an extra living space, or as a small cabin for your weekend home away from home.

This house is gigantic, and probably not what I want for my cabin in the woods (or wherever it ends up being), but there are a few things I like about this home. For example, I love the way the home is rather blocky looking, almost like it was slowly built on the hillside over an extended time period. I also love their use of cedar – it’s a great wood, and has a wonderful smell. I’m from the Pacific Northwest, so maybe that’s part of my upbringing!

But there’s one this I love with a capital L – the outdoor bath. Check that out! Can you imagine relaxing in that tub with a glass of wine on a cool evening? Wow.

This small cabin is described by the architects as “essentially a wooden tent on a platform that opens to the forest and river”. It’s beautiful the way the cabin opens up – there’s very little barrier to the outside.

Shipping container homes don’t need to look like shipping container homes, and this home called “Crossbox” is a perfect example. This house looks awesome, don’t you think? And as great as the exterior is, the interior is even better!
