This amazing Swiss ski chalet is located in the ultra-exclusive ski resort area of Courchevel, France. It’s newly built, though the size is a little different that the Swiss Eco Pods we featured a few days ago! It’s about 2,690 sq. ft., and currently for sale for a bit more that $5.9 million. What do you get? Other than the obviously great craftsmanship and typical amenities you get 5 bedrooms, two lounge area, ski room, wine cellar and terrace overlooking the beautiful mountains. It’s a bargain, right?

There’s a lot to like about this house. Check out the massive library – that’s just incredible. The woodwork is amazing, too. The size is impressive to the point of being overwhelming – at 10,200 sq. ft. I’d worry about getting lost.

This incredibly beautiful creekside retreat is a remodel of an old cabin, and it’s wonderful. It’s funny how you can see the outside of the old cabin in the living room wall – I love it. And that view of the creek, wow.

Maison Container Lille is a beautiful shipping container home built in Lille, France by architect Patrick Partouch. It required only 3 days of on-site construction, and the eight containers combine to create 208 sq meters of living space (that’s 2240 sq ft to us Americans). The outside is a beautiful fire engine red is offset with large window and wood privacy panels to create a wonderful look from the outside. The inside? Decide for yourself – but I’ll give you a hint: It’s awesome.

These pods are part of the Eco Pod Hotel, located in Films, Switzerland. Though tiny, these pods are pretty perfect. They can apparently handle a large amount of snow from the looks of it, and come in 2 or 3 bed variations, without room for much else. In many ways, a roof over your head and heat is really all you need in a cabin. It’s an interesting idea to kick around, at least.

Houseboats tend to be designed like a floating cube, mostly to maximize space. German developers Kerstin and Thomas Wilde have come up with a new sail-inspired design that not only makes an efficient use of space but also adds great design features such as privacy, livability, beauty. Plus, how could you not love such an awesome roof-top deck?

Created in quintessential Northwest architectural style, this home in Gig Harbor, Washington is called the Cliff House, and it’s easy to see why. Squeezed into the slight area between a cliff and the Puget Sound, the Cliff House also takes the idea of waterfront living to an awesome extreme. The water is right outside the house – it’s almost like living on a gigantic, awesome house boat. I love this house.
Oh, and the roof is awesome, too.

Stunningly beautiful, this romantic oceanfront rental is located in Bodega Bay, on the northern coast of California. Perfect for a small family, the home is lovely, and the views are breathtaking. Really, there’s not much I can say about this home. It’s awesome.
